Hosts were charming and very informative and helpful. Generous breakfast. Outdoor covered lounge and breakfast area attractive and comfortable. Pool, hot tub and steam room were immaculate. Secure access 24 hours including parking. Garden and grounds were beautiful and well maintained with cottages tucked in behind the vegetation. Rustic but comfortable cabins with kitchenette. Overall, my wife and I felt this small resort was one of the most pleasant places we have stayed at. No guest reviews were available since this was a new listing on www.bookings.com, but weren't necessary in our decision to stay here.
Distance from Paraty including historical area was further than expected and is not an easy nor safe walk (no sidewalks for much of it). Car or taxi needed. Bus service is available but not used.

A little gem in Paraty’s suburb of Jabaquara. The pousada has six rooms located in three comfortable little wooden bungalows tucked away in lush greenery. The mile-long beach is a half block away, and is home to a dozen bars and small restaurants. The neighborhood is very laid back and quite safe – you can stroll along the beach and into town at night without worries. You can walk to the historic old town in about 30 minutes, or take the bus that leaves roughly every 90 minutes. Eliconial’s staff speaks French, Spanish and English, and are a friendly bunch who will help you plan your tours in the area. A boat tour is a must.
The beds are quite small – tall people will sleep with their feet floating in mid-air.

During Easter, my partner and I stayed at a beautiful guest house with individual huts that provided an extremely relaxing atmosphere. The hosts were super friendly and took the time to interact with guests. They provided maps and great restaurant suggestions. The garden was well-maintained and a great place to chill out. We loved that they offered free canoe hire and enjoyed it near the beach. The breakfast was freshly prepared, including made-to-order crepes. The location was perfect as it was a quick walk to the beach and easy to walk into town.
The walls were rather thin, which made it difficult to sleep as we could often hear noises from other huts, making it harder for us to relax at night. Additionally, there were a few dark paths we needed to take to get to the guest house, and we didn't feel totally comfortable at night.
